Don McFadden, “Mickey D”, 65, passed away at home on October 04, 2025.
Donald Lee McFadden was born on July 08, 1960 in South Bend to the late Albert and Betty June Kinyon McFadden. He was raised by and considered Robert Dwight Smith, “Smitty” his dad.
Left to cherish Don’s memory are his daughter, Mary (Aric) Wilburn, sons, Shaun (Sarah) McFadden and Patrick (Ashley) McFadden; grandchildren, Malia & Cheyenna Wilburn, Haliegh, Brady, & Ellanoir McFadden, Peyton & Brody McFadden; girlfriend, Tammy Riffle and Derrick, Ashley, & Alyvia Riffle; and a sister, Kelly (Darrell) Liscomb.
Don was a member of the Plumber and Pipe Fitters Union Local 172, the American Legion Post #303, where he was also the Commander of SAL. He was also a member of Sunny Haven Recreational Park. Don worked for the Royal Cafe, Oaken Bucket, and as a plumber, working for various companies, Cabo Plumbing being the last. He was a jack of all trades; he trained many younger generation plumbers and helped all his friends and family around their homes. He was proud to share his skills and knowledge with others, especially with his sons. Don was an avid volleyball and dart player. He loved hanging out with all his amazing friends. He was a loving father and grandfather.
A Candle Light Vigil will be held at 8:00PM, this Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the American Legion, Post 303, 2503 E. Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, IN 46615. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Joseph Funeral Home to assist with expenses.
