Diane C. (Ruszkowski) Anton, 74 years old, peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at West Bend Nursing Home in South Bend.
Diane was born on December 5, 1950 in South Bend to the late Joseph Chester and Clara M (Shoen) Ruszkowski. Diane is also preceded in death by her sister, Claire Ruszkowski.
Diane is survived by her close relative and friend, Jerry Niezgodski; and other extended family members.
Diane worked at Delphi Technology in Kokomo, where she spent most of her career. She had a deep love for the "Old Standards"— jazz and big band music were particular favorites — and she truly enjoyed great food. Among her favorite restaurants were LaSalle Grill and Cafe Navarre, where she cherished many special meals. Later in life, Diane was diagnosed with a rare condition known as vibroacoustic disease, a little-known illness that may affect more people than currently recognized. Rather than letting the diagnosis defeat her, Diane met it with strength and purpose, dedicating herself to raising awareness and supporting others facing similar challenges. Above all, she treasured the companionship of her beloved dogs, Sadie and Gracie — her loyal terrier mixes who rarely left her side.
Burial took place at 2:00pm on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at St. Joseph Cemetery in South Bend.
