Desiree Lynn Bailey

Desiree Lynn Bailey, 61 years old, peacefully passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at her residence in South Bend.

Desiree was born on May 2, 1964 in South Bend, to the late Howard and Helen (Camparone) Bailey. 

Left to cherish the memory of Desiree is; son, Blake (Jessie) Bailey; grandchildren, Mercuttio Bailey, Sky Bailey, Joshua Menzie, Blake Bailey, Jr., Samantha Kanezuzewski, Janiyah Forrest; sister, Michele Rhinesmith; nephews, Codie Respondek, Codie Fisk-Respondek Jr., Prestun Myer-Respondek, Ray Lofton, Anthony Pietrzak, Adam Pietrzak, Daniel Whetstone, David Whetstone, Frances Stanley, and Rodney Mock; nieces, Kayla Respondek, Alaina Respondek, Justine Pietrzak, Jessica Pietrzak, Alice Whetstone, Amelia Respondek, Summer Whetstone, Koda Simon, Andrea Click, and Kris Click; cousins, George Haines, April Haines, Crystal Haines, Olivia Haines, Phoenix Haines Taylor Haines, and Gary Haines; her best friend in the world and wife, Lisa Pietrzak; brother-in-law, Brian Rhinesmith; as well as others, Ted Simon, Nevaeh Simon, Joey Simon, Izaya Simon, Exavier Simon, Lynnaeh Simon, Crystal Simon, Linda Eytcheson, Zack Plantz, Arianna Wilson, Elijah Fulkerson and Rachel Downhour, Susan Wesaw, Glen Wesaw, Lotus Wesaw, And Onyx Wesaw.

Desiree was a devoted mother and a true friend to everyone she met. She had a gift for making people feel cared for—always ready to listen, help, and share her warmth. To her family, she was not only a loving sister and grandmother, but also the best aunt anyone could hope for. Desiree was bright, full of laughter, and found joy in life’s simple pleasures—watching scary movies, celebrating April Fools’ Day, tending to her garden, and spending time with her beloved dog, Batsy. Above all, she will be remembered for her kind spirit and her generous heart.

Visitation for Desiree will be held 11:00 am to 1:30pm on Friday, November 7, 2025 in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Funeral Service to start at 1:30pm at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
