Delphine "Dolly" McCullough, age 69, passed away peacefully in her home after a courageous battle with lung cancer on May 25, 2024. Dolly was born on January 21,1955, to the late Joseph and Frances Bilinski. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and a life well-lived.
For over 25 years, Dolly, alongside her husband, navigated the vast expanse of North America as an owner-operator of a semi-truck. From Alaska to Florida, Canada to Texas, they transported some of the nation's most sensitive military equipment. They especially enjoyed their time in Alaska and Las Vegas. During their travels, Dolly loved watching the different wildlife they would come across. Dolly also enjoyed spending her time at the casino while on the road or back home in South Bend.
Dolly's pride and joy were her daughter Kristy (Mario) Garcia and especially her granddaughter Isabel Garcia of Indianapolis. Dolly is survived by her two devoted sisters, Darlene (Bob) Best of Plymouth and Cookie (Dennis Sniadecki) of South Bend; her stepsons Jeff (Hannah) McCullough of Grand Rapids, MI, and Joe McCullough of Germany; her three step-grandchildren; and her two cats, Buddy and Skunk.
A heartfelt thank you to her big sister Darlene for all of her time and extra care over the last 17 months, taking Dolly to her appointments, treatments, outings, and spending time with her at home in South Bend. We would also like to thank Dr. Ansari and the Center for Hospice Care.
The family will be having a small private ceremony at a later date.
