Deborah Marie Wachowiak

Deborah Marie Wachowiak, 61, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2025.

Deborah was born on November 11, 1963 in South Bend, IN to Raymond and Georgianne (Bogunia) Wachowiak.

Left to cherish their memories of Debbie are her parents, Raymond & Georgianne; her sons, Zachary (Ruth) Rekos and Jacob (Emma Tarkington) Rekos; sister, Eileen (John) Barany; brother, John (Lisa) Wachowiak; granddaughters, Gianna, Lainey, & Elsie Rekos; nieces & nephew, Hali & Monica Barany, Kaitlyn (James) Wurtzbaugh, and Joseph & Emily Wachowiak; and many other dear family members.

Debbie was a 1982 graduate of John Adam's High School. She was a parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at Little Flower Catholic Church. Debbie was very active with her sons as they were growing up. She volunteered at their school helping with band and other activities. She also coached cheerleading and track at Tarkington Elementary. Debbie enjoyed gardening, music, and arts & crafts. Her greatest love was babysitting her granddaughters and spending as much time with them as she could.

Visitation will be held 10:00 am - 12:00 pm on Saturday, April 26, 2025 in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., South Bend, IN 46619 with a Funeral Service to begin at 12:00 pm in the funeral home Chapel. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions in honor of Deborah may be made to Little Flower Catholic Church, 5419 N. Ironwood Rd., South Bend, IN 46635.
