David M. Kowalewski

David M. Kowalewski, 76 years old, passed away on November 26, 2022 in Memorial Hospital. Dave was born on September 17, 1946 in South Bend, to the late John J. and Dorothy (Zielinski) Kowalewski. On October 09, 1992 in South Bend, Dave married the love of his life, Carol J. (Wesley) Kowalewski, who preceded him in death on June 13, 2021. He is also preceded in death by his son, Todd Kowalewski, and step-son, Leon Cuthbert.

Left to cherish their memory of Dave are his children, Michael (Lori) Kowalewski, Melissa (Bob) Kush, Maria (John) Montgomery, Tracy (Todd) Cuthbert, Valery (Cory) Bagarus; grandchildren, Gavin, Rebeca and Andrew Kowalewski, Christopher, Zac (Katie) and Molly Kush, Olivia and Victoria Montgomery, Emily, Ethan (Tasha) and Maggie Mokwa, James, Julius and Cora Bagarus, Ashley (Terry) Denaway; and great-grandchildren Presleigh Mokwa, Payton Bernal, Isabella, Anna, Noah, Jay and T. T.  Denaway.

Dave attended New Carlisle High School and was a member of Michiana Steel Headers. He worked at Bendix for many years and retired from I/N Tek after 13 years. Dave also enjoyed fishing and hunting whenever he had the opportunity, and loved playing cards - especially spades. Above all, Dave loved his family dearly.

Friends and family will be received from 3:00 pm to 5:45 pm Wednesday, November 30, 2022 in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Funeral Service to begin at 5:45 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel.
