Daniel Leo Ewald, 95, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 in the Center for Hospice Care, Raclin House.
Daniel was born on August 16, 1929 in South Bend to the late Leo and Bernice (Mezykowski) Ewald. On April 7, 1951 Daniel married the love of his life, Lorraine (Andrzejewski) Ewald, she survives. He was also preceded by two sisters in death.
Left to cherish Daniel's memory are his wife, Lorraine Ewald; son, Tom (Roberta) Ewald, daughter, Pamela (John) Brown; grandchildren, Jordan Ewald, Jared Ewald, Andrew Ewald, David (Samantha) Brown, Joseph (Brittany) Brown, and Laura Brown; great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Kayden, Willow, & Grace Brown; sisters, Theresa Arelt and Esther Enoch; and Godson, Kenneth (Barbara) Bartkowiak.
Daniel proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Bendix Corp/Allied Signal after many years of employment. Daniel was a member of the Bendix Senior Management Club, Moose Lodge, the American Legion Post 357, and held the Presidential seat of the St. Casimir Seniors club for many years. He was a very talented wood carver and enjoyed building things. Daniel loved being outdoors working in the yard.
Private services will be held. Daniel will be entombed in St. Joseph Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at sjfh.net.
