Dale L Hans

Dale L. Hans, 91 years old, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2024 at the Center for Hospice in Mishawaka.

Dale was born on August 14, 1932 in South Bend, to the late Joseph and Thelma (King) Hans. Dale is also preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Jackowiak) Hans; and his brothers, Floyd and Russel Hans.

Left to cherish their memory of Dale are his brothers, Gerald (Sharon) Hans, Robert Hans, Larry (Jane) Hans; sisters, Jean Lonzo, Diana Hans; 8 nieces and nephews; 12 great-nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, JoJo.

Dale was a truck driver and member of the Teamsters union for 40 years. Dale was a very handy person. He was very mechanically inclined and built two antique cars from scratch – including a Model T. He also would paint automobiles. Dale also loved fishing, water-skiing, ice fishing, and spending as much of his free time at Gravel Lake, where he had his lake cottage.

Visitation for Dale will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., South Bend, with a Funeral Service to begin at 11:00 am.  Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
