Cora Haynes Obituary

Cora Jeanette Haynes, 82 years old, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 10, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Cora was born on February 5, 1941 in Milan, MI to Clarice Wagner, who preceded her in death. Cora is also preceded in death by her husband, John Haynes; brothers, Harold, Gordon, and Kenneth Lentz; sisters, Delores Sampier, and Norma Lentz; nephew, Richard Lentz and nieces, Kimberly Lentz and Connie Rojas.

Left to cherish the memory of Cora is her daughter, Jodie (Dave) Lentz; grandchildren, Gary (Maleny) Francisco, Heather Francisco, Harmony (Ethan) Francisco, Gideon Francisco, William Green, and Orlando (Beaver) Green; great-grandchildren, Dallas Francisco, Chloee Bunton; beloved sister-in-law, Gloria Lentz; her lifelong friends, Gale (Bob) Mazur, Minnie Paul, Rose Marie (Mike) Klavon, Diane Rink, Suzanne Willis, Ruby Jewel (Fred) Lowe, Gloria (Don) Lowe, Lynda (Rick) Browning, Karen (Ronnie) Waldrum, Keith Strickland, Lorielle (Drake) VanHooser, Brooke Strickland, Charles (Kaye) Lowe, Gerry (Kelly) Bullington, Lisa (Joe) Mullens, Anthony Radke, Renee Rossetto, Holly Rossetto, Nick Rossetto, and Ricky Rudd; her devoted caregiver, Cindy Graham; her granddaughters, Lexi Knotts and Christy Greene; nieces, Sheila (Doug) Bima, Lyndsey (Joe) Morgan, Kaylee (Ryan) Marino and Laurie Lentz; nephews, Tony Bima, Michael Bima, Scott Sampier, Kenneth (Sharon) Lentz, Roger Lentz, Bradley Lentz, Jeffery Lentz, and Gregory (Elizabeth) Lentz.

Cora was known for being a very generous, loving, and compassionate person. She loved children, her kitty cats, and spending time with her family during holidays and family get-togethers. Cora had a heart of gold and loved helping people in any way she could. She was also a very dedicated employee at the City Hall in Melvindale, MI as the Payroll Clerk for over 30 years. She even kept in touch with all of her dear coworkers after retirement. Cora also loved to go camping, especially at Yogi Bear. She was a loyal fan of the Detroit Tigers, Lions and Pistons. Cora also loved playing Scattergories and listening to country music. Her favorite artists were Daniel O’Donnell and George Jones. Above all, she loved her daughter, Jodie, dearly. Cora was loved by many and will be missed by all.

A Celebration of Life for Cora will be held at a later date.
