Claudia (Rodriguez) De Leon

Claudia De Leon, 91 years old, passed away on April 4, 2026 at Raclin House in Mishawaka, IN.

Claudia was born on January 4, 1935 in Mexico City to Vincente and Eusebia Rodriguez. Claudia married Delfino De Leon, who preceded her in death. Claudia was also preceded in death by her parents, Vincente and Eusebia Rodriguez. She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Delores Balderas, Pablo Rodriguez, Ramon Rodriguez, Vincente Rodriguez, Consuelo Lopez; grandson, Jeremy J. Salinas; and great grandson Xavier L. Winston.

Left to cherish their memories of Claudia are her children, Delfino (Judy) De Leon, Elsa Mester, Maria "Lupe" (Gary) Thompson, Gilberto (Mary Jo) (Dawn) De Leon; grandchildren, Roberto D. (Clara) De Leon, Alyson M. De Leon, Maria Mester, Paula Mester, Michael S. (Alicia) Thompson, Katherine L. (Douglas) Fashbaugh, Nikki M. (Nico) Oliverio, Erica M. (Yusef) Balderos, Demetrius Winston, Michelle (Kevin) Callahan, Nicole Kurzhal; great grandchildren, Scarlett P. De Leon, Issaac M. Thompson, Ezra M. Thompson, Abel M. Thompson, Kora E. Fashbaugh, Leila L. Fashbaugh, Alistair Winston, Greyson Winston, Cayden Kurzhal, Brantley Kurzhal.

Claudia belonged to St. Jude Church for many years. She had a passion for painting, education and fitness. She also enjoyed gardening. After retirement Claudia was active in her church bible study and volunteered at the St. Joe Hospital gift shop.

Claudia loved spending time with her family especially during the holidays. She loved making tamales. Claudia was fiercely independent driving herself right up until the end. She will be dearly missed by those who love her.

In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made to the Food Bank of Northern Indiana.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held for Claudia at 11:00 am on Friday April 10, 2026 at St. Jude Parish, 19704 Johnson Rd, South Bend, IN 46614. There will be an hour of visitation before the service and then there will be a procession after the service for her burial at St. Joseph Cemetery
