Christopher Jay Jaworski

Christopher Jay Jaworski, 66 years old, passed away on November 28th in Westfield, IN.

Christopher was born May 11, 1959, in South Bend, IN to Matthew Jaworski and Josephine (Chwalek-Jaworski) Wegenka, who preceded him in death.

Left to cherish their memories of Chris are his children, Jessica (Steven) Keath, Josef Jaworski, Noel Jaworski; grandson, Noah Keath; siblings, Janelle (John Burnside) Jaworski, Curt Jaworski, Patrice Maughon, and Pamela (TJ) Borton; and many loved nieces and nephews.

Chris graduated from North Liberty High School in the class of 1979. He was a 1991 Indiana University of South Bend Alumni with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Minors in Political Science and Psychology. Chris also graduated from the Indiana Police Academy, Class of 1988. Chris was briefly a North Liberty Police Officer from 1988 to 1990 and then joined the St. Joseph County Police department from 1990 to 1996 before he bought his store in 1997. Chris was the owner/operator of Jaworski’s Market for nearly three decades, which he devoted much of his life to. Chris was a lifelong member of the Crumstown Conservation Club and the NRA. He was also an avid NASCAR and Notre Dame fan. Chris was well known in his community and often spoke of how proud he was of his children.

Friends and family will be received from 2:00pm- 6:00pm Sunday, December 7th, 2025 at St. Joseph Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 2:00pm Monday, December 8th, 2025 in the funeral home chapel. A private burial in St. Joseph Cemetery will be at a later date.
