Chris Edward Lovitt, Sr.

Chris Edward Lovitt, Sr., 68 years old, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at the Center for Hospice Care in Mishawaka.

Chris was born on March 30, 1955 in South Bend, to the late Wilbur J. and Louetta (Werntz) Lovitt.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jack Lovitt and his sister, Karen Pauwels.

Left to cherish the memory of Chris is his son, Chris Lovitt, Jr.; sister, Andrea Kollars; his brother, Roger Lovitt; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.

Chris was raised in South Bend, and was a graduate of LaSalle High School. After graduation, he started working for Dodge Manufacturing before moving on to serve many years as the United Steelworkers Local 1191 President. He also served as staff representative for United Steelworkers, where he retired in 2021. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and going to the casino.  Chris was a big sports fan, he enjoyed Cubs Baseball, Bears Football, Notre Dame Sports, and most of all, fantasy football.

There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date. Funeral arrangements were trusted to St. Joseph Funeral Home.
