Chester "Chet" Olejnik, 75 years old, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025 with his family at his side at his residence in South Bend.
Chet was born on August 6, 1949 in Augsburg, Germany to the late Metyn "Matt" and Hellen (Bejm) Olejnik. On March 21, 1996 in California, Chet married the love of his life, Orawan Raksuan, who survives.
Along with his loving wife, Orawan, Chet is survived by his children Ty (Athena) Olejnik, Reese Olejnik, Kylie Olejnik, Jason Olejnik, Kristy Thompson; grandchildren, Kolton, Seth, and Paislee; and his sister, Genevieve "Jeannie" Olejnik.
Chet lived his life in the fast lane. He loved everything about cars, especially Mopar. He worked as a Mechanic for much of his life, and even worked shortly in the business of exporting cars. Chet also loved motorcycles, martial arts and karate, guns, swimming in the ocean, and traveling. He spent over 20 years living in Australia, and a couple years in Thailand, before returning to the U.S. in the 90s. Back home, in South Bend, he spent the rest of his years doing what he loved most: spending time with family and friends, and sharing good meals with the people he loved.
Chet lived boldly, leaving behind a legacy of stories and unforgettable memories. He will forever be missed and will live on in the memories of his friends and loved ones. A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm Friday, May 23, 2025 at St. Joseph Cemetery, friends are welcome to attend. Funeral arrangements were trusted to St. Joseph Funeral Home.
