Cecelia Faith Newbill

Cecelia Faith Newbill, 59 years old, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka.

Cecelia was born on November 25, 1965 in South Bend, to the late Marian Scott-Newbill and Willie Smiley. Cecelia is also preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Newbill; nephews, Mercedes Newbill, Terry Newbill, and Desi “Stinky” Arnez, Jr.

Left to cherish the memory of Cecelia are her children Brian Burton of Mishawaka, IN, Lee Burton, Jr of South Bend, IN, and Davante (Lily) Newbill of Indianapolis, IN; granddaughter, Eyla Newbill; siblings, Donna Mae (Lonnie) Newbill-Hosea of South Bend, IN, Roseletha Newbill of South Bend, IN, Desi Arnez (Patricia) Newbill of Sunset, Utah, Rozell Newbill Jr. of South Bend, IN, Angelo (Rubystine) Newbill of Huntersville, NC, Tony Newbill of Carson, CA, and Michelle T. Newbill of South Bend, IN; and her sister-in-law, Debra Newbill of South Bend, IN.

Cecelia was a faithful member of St. Augustine Church, as well as a member of the Rosary Society and she was keeper of the Church. Her faith in Jesus was her guiding light – her favorite passage was Psalm 91. Cecelia was a very selfless and generous person. She loved giving and taking care of people, to many, she was considered an angel. She enjoyed cooking, and had a sense of humor - her laugh was infectious and she never knew a stranger. She took pride in her yard, planting flowers, and decorating her home. Cecelia loved her two dogs, Polo and Sophia. Cecelia was the best mother, aunt and sister a person could ask for. We will always carry her in our hearts.

Friends and family will be received 10:00 to 12:00 pm on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12:00 pm all in St. Augustine Catholic Church, 1501 W. Washington St., South Bend, In.  Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions in honor of Cecelia Faith Newbill may be made out to St. Augustine Catholic Church.
