Carol Kay (Rodriguez) Garcia, 71 years old, peacefully passed away Monday, March 31, 2025 surrounded by her loving family at Elkhart General Hospital.
Carol was born on July 26, 1953 in North Liberty, to the late Jose A. and Romana (Almaguer) Rodriguez. She married the love of her life, Jimmy “Buck” Garcia, Jr. who preceded her death in 2020. Carol is also preceded in death by her daughter, Stephanie Prieto; granddaughter, Jazmin Garcia; sisters, Gloria Garcia, Elvira Caballero; nephew, Joe Luis Bueno; and brother-in-law, Jesse Garcia.
Left to cherish the memories of Carol, are her children, Robert (Nancy Estrada) Pena, Jimmy (Jennifer) Garcia, Jr., and Adam Garcia; grandchildren, Elissa Pena, Roberto (Priscilla) Pena, III, Estrella Prieto, Alfonso Prieto, Estefano Prieto, Allen Parker, Jimmy Garcia, III., Enrique Garcia, and Grayson Garcia; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Maria Luke, Elizabeth (Mike) Perez, Linda Rodriguez; brother, Richard Rodriguez; sister-in-law, Sara Garcia; nephews, Robert Garcia and Moses Garcia; nieces, Maria (Kavy) Bueno and Linda (Marcos) Cervantes; as well as several other extended family members.
Carol loved dancing and singing karaoke, doing yardwork – she made sure her lawn was always in impeccable order. Above all, she loved spending time with her friends and family – they meant the world to her. She will be severely missed.
Visitation for Carol will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, April 10, 2025 at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., South Bend. A Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 pm on Friday, April 11, 2025 with a one-hour visitation prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Donations made in honor of Carol Kay Garcia may be made out to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
