Carol Ann (Wieczorek) Batson

Carol Ann Wieczorek Batson was called home to be with her Lord & Savior April 6, 2023, on her Father’s Birthday, at her home. 

Carol was born August 28, 1948 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Leon Wieczorek & Cecelia Trzinski Wieczorek. Carol graduated from Washington High School Class of 1966.

On February 14, 1973 Carol married Ronald Batson. They were blessed with two children, Lisa Funk (James) and Michael Rairdon (Jennifer). She is also survived by five grandchildren, Samantha (Sammi) and Christian Funk, Lindsay Taylor (Ryan), Ben & Jake Rairdon, and one sister, Diane Szymanowski (Ron).

Carol worked her earlier years at US F & G Insurance Co. in South Bend, Indiana, then for Pete Kline with Nationwide Insurance and retiring from Ken Popovich Insurance Agency in Mishawaka, Indiana after 27 years as his office manager.

Carol loved her job as an usher at Morris Performance Arts Theatre, she loved shopping, and going out with her St. Casimer’s girls- Sylvia, Chris, Diana, Mary Helen, Mary Allen, Judy, Pat, and Diane.

Carol loved her family and will truly be missed, especially by her children and grandchildren. She had the most beautiful heart and was the most wonderful, loving mother, grandmother, sister and wife in the world. Carol made the best individual Christmas stockings for each grandchild they always looked forward to.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, April, 2023 from 4:00pm-6:00pm at St. Joseph Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Service beginning at 6:00pm. Condolences may be made at www.sjfh.net
