Betty A. Grey, 85, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family Tuesday, September 03, 2024.
Betty was born March 29, 1939 in South Bend to the late Harry and Harriet (Kwasniewski) Swartz. She is also preceded in death her baby daughter, Denise Armstrong; sister, Joan (Jack) Grittani; brother, Paul Swartz; and brother-in-law, Devon Paczkowski.
Left to cherish the memory of Betty is her loving husband, John “Bill” William Grey; sons, Randy (Toni) Armstrong and Gregory Armstrong; grandchildren, Justin, Jessica, Joshua & Aliyah Armstrong; great-grandchildren, Bryon, Abigale, Dominic & Hazel Armstrong, and Elise & Mason Bland; sisters, Lorraine Paczkowski, Vicki Russo (David), Sharon (Tom) Williams, and brother, Jerry (Edna) Swartz; god-daughter, Franny Saros; and other dear family members.
Betty grew up attending St. Casimir Catholic Church and Grade School, and graduated from Central High School. She worked for Rubin Cleaners, Chick-fil A, and Cinnabon’s. She enjoyed knitting, shopping, especially at Macy’s, and was an avid Michigan fan.
Betty loved her family dearly and was very active in her sons and grandchildren’s lives. They could always count on her for anything. She had a special sense of humor that those close to her appreciated. Betty was a tough little lady that always protected her family and those she loved.
Visitation will be held 3:00pm-5:00pm, Wednesday, September 11, 2024 with the funeral service beginning at 5:15pm in St. Joseph Funeral Home.
