Barbara Ann Turczynski, 86 years old, peacefully passed away Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Tanglewood Trace in Mishawaka.
Barbara was born November 27, 1938 in Mishawaka, to the late Raymond and Gertrude (Jordan) VanDeWalle. On May 4, 1963, Barbara married the love of her life, Norbert "Turk" Turczynski, who preceded her in death in 2019.
Left to cherish the memory of Barbara are her children, John Green, Cheryl (John) Babcock, Susan (Michel Busby) Kulczar, and Mary (Tim) Huff; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandsons; and a sister, Joanne VanDeWalle.
Barbara was a faithful parishioner of St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish and an active member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She loved playing euchre and was part of a card club with close friends. Barbara also enjoyed bingo, trips to the casino, and cheering on her beloved Notre Dame team. In her later years, she remained engaged in life, participating in many activities at Tanglewood Trace, where she formed lasting friendships. Above all, Barbara’s greatest joy came from her family. Her room was lovingly decorated with cherished photos of her children and grandchildren—a testament to the deep love she held for them.
Friends and family will be received 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, August 13, 2025 with a Rosary to be prayed 5:30 pm at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 55756 Tulip Road, New Carlisle. Burial will immediately follow to Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
