Anna "Ann" M. (Luzny) Zane

Anna M. Zane, 93 years old, peacefully passed away on August 21, 2023 at her residence in South Bend.

Ann was born on December 31, 1929 in South Bend, IN to the late Henry and Julia (Szymanowski) Luzny. On September 5, 1953, Ann married the love of her life, Daniel R. Zane, who precedes. Ann is also preceded in death by her sister, Justine Kucharski; and her brothers, Henry & Frances Luzny.

Left to cherish Ann's memories are her children, John Zane, Diane (Vic) Ramirez, and David (Sandy Vanslager) Zane; grandchildren, Jamie Zane, Damian (Theresa) Ramirez, Alicia (John) De Leon; great-grandchildren, Josiah and Raya; and her beloved dog, bonnie.

Ann was a lifelong resident of South Bend. She was a graduate of Central High School. She was a parishioner of St. Jude's Catholic Parish. Ann showed talent in music, art and fashion and she passed along those abilities to her children. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan ever since she was married to Dan. She was fortunate enough to finally see them win the World Series in 2016. Ann also had a deep love for birds and other animals, especially her dogs. She devoted her time to working at Ireland Rd. Animal Clinic. She was later employed by Tiffany’s Bakery in Scottsdale Mall. Ann’s favorite pastime was enjoying her garden, caring for her flowers, and watching birds from her Sunroom. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loved by everyone she interacted with and will be missed by all.

Friends and family will be received from 12:00pm-2:45pm on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S Mayflower Rd, South Bend. A Funeral Mass will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday at St. Hedwig Catholic Parish, 331 S. Scott St, South Bend. Burial will take place at a later date at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
