Allan Poe, 75, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025.
Allan was born on July 9, 1950 in Chevy Chase, MD to the late Albert and Gertrude Bruce Poe. On November 18, 1978, Allan married the love of his life, Lynnette Poe, she preceded him in death.
Left to cherish the memory of Allan is his son, Jeffrey Poe of Wilmington, North Carolina; sister, Sue (Art) Sradeja of Oak Harbor, OH; sister-in-law, Patricia Stump of Branson, MO; brother-in-law, Raymond (Karen) Glon of South Bend, IN; nieces, Sandi Stump of Denver, Co, Katherine (Tony) Ekovich of LaPorte, IN; Angela Sradeja of Oak Harbor, OH, Cristine Gongaware of La Crescent, MN; nephews, Tony (Christy) Seely of Perrysburg, OH, Matt (Kelly) Sradeja of Toledo, OH, Collier Glon of Madison, WI.
Allan was a graduate of IUSB. He was the Secretary and a member of the Eagles of Syracuse, IN, as well as a member of the American Legion Post 223 in Syracuse. Allan was a lifelong Notre Dame fan, a University of Wisconsin fan, and a Cubs fan. Allan loved sports in his early days and was "Mr. Athletic". In his later years, he loved working outdoors and keeping a well-maintained yard. Allan worked for I&M (now American Electric Power), retiring in 2012, and was part of the I&M lineman brotherhood.
Together with Lynnette, Allan enjoyed attending concerts with their friends and taking trips to the Indy 500. They enjoyed dancing and going to Valentine’s and New Year's dances. Allan enjoyed his yearly guys' trips to Cubs games. He was big in the tailgating community and would always enjoy the camaraderie.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
Visitation for Allan will be 9:00am to 12:00pm Saturday, December 20, 2025, in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., South Bend, with the Memorial Service beginning at 12:00pm.
