Alejo Ramos went home peacefully at 12:54 PM on April 13, 2025. Alejo was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico on November 6, 1963, to the late Antonia Moyet, his mother. He met the love of his life, Lucy (Marrero) Ramos and married her on July 25, 1981.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lucy, and their six children, Alexander, Merlissa, Omar (Rebecca), Jeanette (Servando, Jr.), Orlando (Angelica), and Uriel (Isaly). He is also survived by his sister, Maritza Amaya; and brother, Edwin Ramos. He has many nieces and nephews, whom he loves, and his loving grandchildren, Yanaliz, Lianna, Yandiel, Sebastian, Angelita, Nathalia, Bridgette, Alexander Jr., Nayeli, Orlando Jr., Servando III, Omar Jr., Enaël, Aurielle, Faith, and one on the way. Alejo has four grandbabies in Heaven with him.
Alejo was employed at Midwest Color for more than 30 years in Illinois. He worked as a Security Guard here in South Bend for the past two years. He is a well-known Mechanic. Alejo loved bowling and helping others. Nothing made him happier than having all his grandbabies and other children together in one place. He treated everyone as family. Last but not least…he loved his motorcycle.
The family will welcome friends from 3:00pm-8:00pm on Friday, May 2, 2025 at St. Joseph Funeral Home, with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00pm. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, May 3, 2025 with an hour of visitation prior to service, all at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in South Bend.
