Cemetery Services

We consider it an honor and a privilege to care for the grounds and features of this unique resting place. The staff takes pride in maintaining our grounds to the highest standards possible. General maintenance includes regular mowing and trimming of the grass, filling holes from previous interments, tree care and leaf mulching/removal.

The families who own the individual lots are responsible for the care of any monuments or markers on the lot and the care of bushes.

However, some families ask us to care for these items as well. There are some lots where the family wishes to have additional or special care of the lot. This may include higher care of the grass or annual planting of a flower border at the monument or pruning of the bushes.

We have two programs available for families to receive this special care of their lot, memorials or private mausoleums: annual care, and endowments.

  • Annual Care
    Annual Care

This program sets up an annual agreement for St. Joseph Funeral Home to do specific tasks and the family pays for these services annually. The family is billed sometime during the year, either at the beginning of the growing season or on the anniversary of the agreement.

An example of the service would be if your family wanted a Begonia border at the monument during the growing season. This includes preparing the bed, planting the flowers, care of the flowers, including watering and weeding, if necessary and removing the flowers at the end of the growing season. To set up this arrangement, you would contact our Administration Department and request an estimate for this work. Upon receiving the estimate you would choose the services desired and pay the fees due at this time. Then the following year, we would bill you for the next year.

The charges for Annual Care are reviewed annually and may increase in price without notice. These prices are subject to the approval of the State Cemetery Board. Please always check with our Administration Department for the most current price information.

  • Endowment
    Endowments

Rather than paying annually for services, while ensuring the continued care of the lot, your family could set up an Endowment with St. Joseph Funeral Home. Thousands of families have chosen to do this to avoid the burden for future generations.

The Endowment is a trust account set up by St. Joseph Funeral Home specifically for your lot to earn an annual amount of interest income that will be used by St. Joseph Funeral Home to perform the services you selected.

If your family is interested in an Endowment, contact our Administrative Office. The first thing we will do is an assessment of the lot. The personnel of St. Joseph Funeral Home will go to the lot, review its condition and determine the services we can perform. This may include reseeding or sodding the grass on the lot, or planting a monument border or bushes. The assessment is returned to our Administration Department where it is priced and then a written estimate of potential services is sent to the family representative.

The family then returns the authorization form with endowment funds and we set up the account and start performing the work. Annually St. Joseph Funeral Home will review the lot and automatically perform the necessary work. Thereby, an endowment will ensure the continued long-term care of the property.
